   "Inter Tight Fallback" faces in styles.css (2026-08-14): they are local
   Arial stretched to these fonts' own measurements, so the swap changes
   letterforms without moving a line box. Verified on throttled-4G cold cache
   at the time of the flip — 0.000 CLS, and the hero/nav pixel-diff bbox was
   empty outside the countdown's own animated digits. That is the whole reason
   this is not a re-run of the 08-14 "pills shake" report; do NOT flip a family
   to swap that has no metric-matched fallback.

   JetBrains Mono stays `optional` for exactly that reason: --font-mono is
   "JetBrains Mono", ui-monospace, "SF Mono", monospace with NO size-adjusted
   fallback, and its latin file is not preloaded (measured landing at 13.3s on
   throttled 4G). Swapping that would visibly reflow the countdown pill, which
   is the topmost text in the hero. Give it a measured metric fallback first.

   One woff2 per family+subset covers every weight Google served for it.

   Every `-v2` file was re-cut 2026-08-15 to drop weight we never ask for.
   These are VARIABLE fonts whose wght axis shipped as 100-900, but no
   @font-face here declares Inter below 400 or Inter Tight below 600, so
   everything under 400 was pure download on every cold view. The axis is
   clipped to 400-900 with fonttools varLib.instancer:

     preloaded pair   93.1KB -> 64.6KB   (the first-paint cost)

     cyrillic quad    88.4KB ->  62.5KB  (what RU text loads)

   The clip is LOSSLESS, not approximate: every one of these fonts carries its
   gvar deltas as two tuples peaking at wght 100 and 900, so trimming the bottom
   half drops whole tuples and never re-interpolates a new master. Clipping the
   TOP instead would rebase the default and round ~1/2048 em off the in-between
   weights, which showed up as real pixels on the home and albums headlines when
   it was tried. Verified: advance widths, side bearings and vertical metrics
   identical to the old files at every declared weight, and 7,278 glyph renders
   (every codepoint of every file at every weight, incl. all Cyrillic) compared
   old-vs-new with no differing glyph.

   JetBrains Mono's axis already starts at 400, so there is nothing to clip; its
   two files are re-cut only to drop glyph names and the `frac` feature, which
   no rule in this site's CSS ever switches on. Its two CYRILLIC files are left
   alone deliberately - the same treatment buys 668B total, which is not worth a
   URL change. Coverage is UNCHANGED everywhere: same codepoints in and out, in
   every file. Prayer, chat and people carry text visitors type, so an accented
   or Cyrillic name must never land on a missing glyph.

   New FILENAMES rather than a ?v= stamp: fonts are served with
   `Cache-Control: public, max-age=2592000` by the vhost, so an in-place
   overwrite would go on serving the old bytes for up to 30 days. The
   superseded files stay on disk on purpose: a browser still holding an older
